Hobos

Ever out in the woods camping and want a full on main meal, go for a hobo. This food is a summer camp tradition that I eat at least 5 times a summer. Kids gathered around perfectly made fires waiting to put together the staple food of camp, a hobo. A hobo consists of a meet or veggie patty broken down into as small a pieces as you can get, which is often a challenge as they have just come out of the freezer. The a ton of veggies are passed around, including, carrots, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. The main ingredient is then put on, which is potatoes. The more potatoes the better, I think. Once you have all those ingredients than you had the ingredients that tend to make your hobo different than the next person. People had toppings that range from bbq sauce to salt and pepper, all the way to eggs. The best part of making hobos has yet to come. After all the ingredients are in the tinfoil you get to shape your food how you want to make sure you will recognize it when it comes out of the fire. The best place to put your hobo is on hot coals so you know it is not going

to over cooked but it is also cooking the meat and warming up the potatoes. If you have a meat patty in yours I would give it a good 20 minutes in the fire because you are cooking raw meat, a veggie on the other hand is just to warm everything up to make it that much better. Once the hobo is out of the fire you drizzle cheese on top and watch it melt against all the other food. Place the tinfoil in the dirt (no plate when camping) and eat away! Below is a creative way of making a hobo by placing every ingredient separately as to not mix the flavors as much.
